Its just your blind spot, and because the black "line" is so much
contrasted from the rest of the background your brain "connects" the two lines
with what is called Shape Continuity. -Your Penis
Well we all know about the blind spot but i didnt know that in certain
circumstances it appears that the brain fills in gaps to cover up what the eye
cannot actually see. It seems everyone's brain assumes that the black bar is
always continuous even when your eye cannot actually see that part of the
bar.....
Doens't work here.. I focus on the white cross, and it's the left part that
seems to turn black, around the cross.. But the guy is stille visible with his
head.. And if I move, towards, or backwards, the darkened part turns back to
orange. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I use a lot the
peripherical sight on daily basis? Or should I go to an oculist?
I actually had to move back to get the effect (I was watching in
fullscreen), but when I got it, it was pretty cool. In optical illusion books I
used to read as a kid, they often had that illusion somewhere. "Stare at the
baby duck and make the mommy duck disappear!" sort of thing. Huh, that one was
kind of mean actually. Using the illusion to make your head disappear from your
body is pretty clever!

The human brain is awesome!
