Advanced Search Highlighting
mod_suru is the only software on the market to highlight your web pages when they are accessed from search engines. mod_suru detects if a user accessed your web page from a search engine, parses the users original search query into terms or words assigning each a color, and highlights these terms in your web page. mod_suru works seamlessly with the Apache Web Server, so there is no need to modify your web pages and/or scripts. Here are some of the features.
Different Highlighting Modes
There are two major highlighting modes. Search terms can be highlighted by changing the color of the text and optionally bolding them, or by coloring the background of the word, so it looks like the word was marked with a highlighter.

Customizable Colors
By default mod_suru has a color scheme for Normal Mode, and another for Highlight Mode. However you can create your own color scheme to match your site, or you can choose only one color if think multiple colors is too flashy.
Performance
mod_suru was written entirely in the C Programming Language, which has uncomparable performance especially when dealing with strings. It was designed and tested on sites that get millions of page views a day.
Add Search Engines (including your site search)
There are thousands of search engines on the internet. We only offer built-in support for the major search engines(see list below). If your site gets traffic from other search engines, or you want to support your site's search, it is easy to add search engines.
Suru Search Key
The Suru Search Key displays all the terms from users search query in the color and format that they will appear throughout page. This lets the user know that the document has been highlighted and that they can quickly scan to the relevant part of the document. It can be placed at the top using configuration directives, or anywhere in the web page using a special tag.
