Hello, this is the home page for Sound Insanity.
Sound Insanity is an educational product that replaces the default Windows system sounds (usually beeps and buzzers and such) with more interesting, and varied sounds.
For instance, Sound Insanity can play a different vocabulary word for you each day when you get mail, or teach you a new Spanish word each day every time you accidentally make Windows beep at you. There are also some fun schemes for Monty Python sounds and so on. Sound Insanity runs in the system tray so it generally stays out of your way.
The program will automatically download new sounds periodically, so you may be surprised at what you hear! Some schemes will have an associated URL where you can get additional information about the sound. These schemes will provide a "Go!" link in the Configuration dialog. When one of these schemes is active, then double-clicking on the Sound Insanity icon in the system tray will take you directly to the URL.
If you would like to contribute new sounds to the Sound Insanity library, you can do so here.
You can download the latest bout of Sound Insanity here (Version 0.76 Built 29 June 2003)
